Service Description

Offshore UXO Supervisor TEXORD's Offshore UXO Supervisor provides on-site technical oversight during subsea target investigation, working alongside ROV pilots to support identification, assessment, and classification of seabed contacts and suspect UXO items. Operating within the CIRIA C754 risk management framework, the Supervisor advises on target prioritisation, interprets sonar and visual data against known ordnance signatures, and determines whether a contact requires further investigation, safe avoidance, or engagement by qualified underwater EOD personnel. The role is held to the competency standards of IMAS 09.60 (Underwater Survey and Clearance of Explosive Ordnance) and its parent standard IMAS 09.30 (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), ensuring UXO decisions are made by a qualified, internationally recognised authority rather than left to survey or ROV personnel alone. ROV operations are conducted to relevant IMCA guidance, with the Supervisor acting as the specialist interface between the ROV spread and the wider UXO risk process. Offshore UXO Client Representative TEXORD's Offshore Client Representative provides dedicated on-site representation, ensuring UXO-related works are delivered in line with contractual specifications, agreed methodologies, and programme. The Client Rep monitors contractor performance and progress against scope, acting as the client's point of oversight and escalation for technical and commercial matters offshore. This role supports the client's statutory duties under CDM 2015 and the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, providing an independent check that UXO risk is managed per CIRIA C754 and that contracted parties meet the standards specified — including EOD competency under IMAS 09.30/09.60 (or military equivalent) and diving operations under the Diving at Work Regulations 1997 — with clear, accountable reporting to the client throughout the project.
